Brighton-based artist Woody Green has dropped his latest single, ‘The Greatest Collection Of Local Antiques’. It’s a surreal track that leans into its bright, twangy sonic world, while making space for the tender introduction of avant-garde cello melodies and countermelodies. Despite its left-field instrumentation and tempo changes, it's a compositionally simple track, with minimal harmony allowing for melodic freedom. On the unique process behind the track, he explains: “Creativity is beautiful and hilarious, I just made this up and now it’s a song. We make things up and then they exist and become real, it blows me away. I enjoy writing songs that include things that have no business being in songs. In this one, for instance, there’s a lot of furniture, delivering furniture and the cobblers.” This track is one-quarter of his upcoming EP, which drops in April 2024. -Dan Peeke
